I have a stock tach with a Petronix 1, no additional electronics, and the =
tach works great.=C2=A0 There is one simple trick to get this combo to work=
: you take the loop out of that wire connected to the back of the tach.=C2=
=A0 =C2=A0That's it.=C2=A0 Hard to believe that it is so simple.=C2=A0=C2=
=A0
If you try this and it doesn't work, what could go wrong:1) Tach needs rebu=
ilding.=C2=A0 I had mine rebuilt at Palo Alto Speedo.=C2=A0 I think it was =
about $250.2) You are missing a part.=C2=A0 You need all the original parts=
, consisting of the plastic wire surround, metal frame, and thumb screw.3) =
You have the direction of the wire reversed.=C2=A0 This is easy to screw up=
.=C2=A0 The current flow direction has to be the same as the original.
