Dan-
You ask about putting TR6 pistons in you GT6...
Don't do it !

Think about this for a second. the rods are the same and the bore is the
same, but the crank has a longer throw. That means that the crank has
a longer distance (offset) between the centerlines of the rod journal and the
main journal. Basically it sticks out farther all the way around. So, with
the 2.5 liter crank , the rod swings to the bottom of its arc and the top of
the piston would go down the bore farther (so far so good), but when it got
to the top the of the stroke, the top of the piston goes up higher in the
bore (not good as there is a large chunk of metal called the head in the
way).

Everything on the 2.5 and 2.0 pistons will be the same except the distance
between the hole for the pin and the top of the piston. Shorter on the TR6
and longer on the GT6.

Now doing it your way...putting TR6 pistons on a 2.0 crank, when the TR6
piston gets to the top of the shorter stroke, it won't get any higher than to
give you about a 2:1 compression ratio (better than the other way, but still
not likely to make a lot-o-power).

If your gonna go stock...go stock. And for all you others out there (not Dan
of course), thinkin, hey why not throw the 2.5 liter crank and pistons into
the 2.0 block, Yes you can do this, but be sure you have a TR6 or GT6 mkIII
head (the one for the domed pistons) or the compression will be higher than
Dr. Diesel ever thought possible!

More Power, ho ho ho ho ho

I gotta stop watchin that stupid show...
