Good morning all,
I'd like to toss a little water on the fire here. At 4:00 A.M. patience can wear
a little thin. Few of us have the resources or technical knowlege to do what
Mark does for us. His work is, for the most part, not reinforced with $ but he
still does what he does for the good of all of us British car infected folks.
Reducing the workload does not seem like an unreasonable hope. Figuring out
where
the most benefit to fewest inconvienienced ratio maximizes is a good thing.
Cooperation for the good of all is also a good thing. Since Mark explained the
problem, it seems we should purpose some alternative solutions rather than just
hammering unpleasantries over the lines.
Suggestion based on the idea that the AOL vacation alert is causing the grief
for
Mark. If one (including me as I have a vacation alert feature on my workstation
software.) unsubscribes and then does whatever is needed to go on vacation, then
resubscribes upon return, Marks workload is reduced (particularly with respect
to
"dumb stuff".) and all still get the full benefit of real time list activities.
This is something I do regularly to prevent my mailbox from having 1000 or more
messages in it when I get back. It's no big deal and sticking to such a regimen
will hopefully make all our lives better. I seems a shame to just let this go in
a bad direction as we do all contribute to the collective knowlege base and if
people leave (even the cat lovers.) (insert laughter here!) we are all
diminished.
Can't we all just get along?!
