I can safely say that Castle Howard is somewhat more than a "day trip"
from the London area.
I concur that the art collection is pretty amazing. They had busts of
quite a few Romans from the Augustine Caesars, I think they even had a
likeness of Agripina (sp?). I was pretty amazed.
Nice countryside in Yorkshire. Lots of nice "unclassified" roads to drive on.
Of course no wife can miss the Museum of Racing at Donnington Park race
track near Derby! Amazing collection of old Formula One Cars! ;-). Derby
is near-ish to Nottingham, stop by and see Robin and the boys.
