Ted, I too have a '74 TR-6. There are many way to go with radio
installation depending on money and originality issues. The simplest way
of course is go get a modern radio and have the store install it. They
will have to enlarge the original hole, as no modern radio fits this
hole, but this is not too bad because now you will have a hole that will
fit any modern radio for the forseeable future. The other option is to
have your BL radio gutted and updated, it could even be made to control
a cd changer, but this is a very expensive option. (check Hemmings for
people who do this kind of work). Replacement side panels work, but they
are just as flimsy as the originals- you can improve upon the original
specs. by cutting panels out of thin plywood and covering them in vinyl.
