Hello Everyone!!!
        I am 18 and currently own a nice 2500tc auto, and am very
entusiastic at doing something to improve it soon (first thing to go will
be that spastic BW-35 auto!!).
        However, one day when I finish my degree I hope to own a Triumph
GT-6 which I'll also do up quite nicely.  But I want my GT-6 of the future
to go like a rocket!!!  I think that I will stick with the 2 litre 6cyl
and not upgrade to the 2.5 litre version because I know that an engine
with a shorter stroke is capable of far more rpm.  It should not be hard
to make the bottom end of one of these engines capable of 8000 rpm but I'm
a little unsure of whether any pushrod would be able to handle this very
much.  One obvious way to eliminate this probrem would be to eliminate the
pushrods themselves and go for an Over-Head Camshaft.  The advantages are
obvious, you will have much less mass moving up and down all of the time
and instead you will have some circulating mass, which doesn't have to
change direction every microsecond.  But judging from the design of the
6cyl Triumph block I do not think that it is possible for any sort of OHC
to be mounted onto a Triumph at all.  So, If anyone out there know's if it
can be done I'd be very interested to know - mainly to satisfy my
curiousity.  Obviously, if four valves per cyl has been tried I'd be even
more interested (but this wouldn't seem possible due to the layout of
the ramtubes from the Triumph fuel injection system)!!  Please keep in
mind that I reckon that under the bonnet, the engine would/should still be
easily recognizable to be that of a Triumph engine!
        Just some food for thought!!!  Oh and by the way, all of you guys
who are always so worried about emmisions and all that, you should come
and live here in Australia where any car made before June 1976 doesn't
have to pass any emmision standards!!  We only have to comply with noise 
pollution standards.  It means that we get some pretty wild here cars down
