Has anyone else here in the US ordered from Rimmer Bros, and succeeded
in getting the parts shipped for less than $50 per order. It seems that
beyond a certain minimum weight (probably more than a head gasket),
Rimmer uses UPS, and their minimum shipping/handling charge is 29 GBP.
Working the math, that's about $50.
When I complained, I was told that "tough, UPS is the most reliable
carrier, so that's what you have to pay". Great on customer service,
these guys. That's after not giving a quote on what the total price
would be on the order.
There, just had to vent.
What brought it on? The discussion on Spax shocks. From Rimmer,
they're something like 80 GBP plus shipping for the pair, so they can be
had for about the $90 (us) range per shock. Better than some of the
suppliers, but still pricy.
Anyone else have any experience/recommendations for dealing with Rimmer?
