        I would caution against using the presence of the plug as an
indicator that the carb is adjustable from below. My 76 has the correct
carbs for its year. The float bowls did have the plugs but they are
there only for draining the bowls as far as I can tell (and provide yet
another handy place to leak :p ).

        I recently fitted a couple of plug-less float bowls to my carbs
(I got them from a local used parts dealer - no idea what they came off
of).

        I also used a couple of float bowl gaskets I got from a local
Volvo dealer (great source of parts for ZS carbs and Laycock O/D's BTW)
and this guy insisted that the carbs were adjustable from beneath which
is why the plugs were there. I don't know why Triumph kept the plugs
around when the carbs were not adjustable from below but the manuals
certainly make no mention of it for the later cars anyway.
