TR3/TR4 OD unit swap

I have a TR3 OD transmission and I would like to remove the OD unit and fit it
to a TR4 box. Does anyone know if this is possible.  Were the OD units
themselves similar enough? If I built up a TR4 OD tranny would the OD unit
bolt on ? I am assuming that the TR4 tranny has the appropriate shafts etc. as
found on a regular TR4 OD tranny ??
