some of you may already know this, but i found a tid-bit of interesting
information about the tr8 engine....

according to a footnote in an American import reference manuel, the engine
of the tr8 was orginally used in some of the land rover vehicles...
that might be sort of obvious.... but more importantly, the
castings/moldings for this particular engine were purchased from General
Motors and the same engine appears in some of GM compact vehicles first
produced in the 1960's... which GM vehicles i'm not certain but might be
willing to guess on either the malibu or maybe the nova or chevy II....

lastly my point being that if anyone owns a tr8 and works for EDS, GM or
Hayes they can purchase the parts from a division called Employee
Parts Assistance (so long as you can obtain the corresponding part
numbers....) and get them for cost.... might be a long pain in the ass,
but also very cost saving....

if anyone needs the number for employee parts assistance, please email me
personally and i'll dig it up for you... i think it's toll free....

thanks
tad
