Thank you to all those who sent info regarding the age of my MK IV -
seems the consensus is 1971.
Just to reiterate, yes it is a 4 digit motor serial number -
FK3171HE. I beleive the H stands for High Compression, while E is for
Engine.
Tha carburettor is a single Stromberg CD, but has the tag 3612 on
it indicating a 1974 1500. So it has obviously been changed.
I would put more reliability on the diff number FH3391 as being
original.
