You should inspect the bore of the cylinder for wear or pitting - certainly
no comparison in terms of cost (ouch!!), so if a kit will do, go that route.
Also a reminder to flush all hydraulics every couple of years, at a minimum,
to keep the gremlins away. As for the vacuum canister (the servo?), there
should rarely be any problem with that unit. JD

        Has anyone done a complete replacement of the brake master cylinder
        using part from TRF or similar supplier?
        I was wondering how the quality and durability is as opposed to a
        rebuild kit.
        Also, same question about the power brake vacuum canister.
