Jack,
The plate that I have is definitely not homemade, but it is flat with no
curve.  I had wondered about that when I was looking at the match with the
scuttle.  There were parts from other vehicles in the miscellaneous junk that
I acquired, including parts for an MGTD among other mystery parts.  So it
looks as though I have no acceptable stanchion plates...the search will
continue.
