I thought that free flow exhausts were illegal on the road. Are they
accepted legally as far as noise and emissions?

I guess it depends on your perspective and tastes.  I personally like my
monza system.  Sure it is a bit loud (OK, make that "really" loud) but
that is part of the fun of driving a sports car..
