Dunno what to tell you here. My understanding is that piston and carb
bodies are matched to each other in some way. So, it is not advisable to
swap pistons between carbs. I don't really know how crucial this is, as
I've never swapped 'em and then noted the results. In theory, it won't
work very well. But, maybe that's exaggerated.
In any case, depending on what's wrong, it might be that you'll be looking
for a whole new (used) carb. And then I'm wondering if anyone will want to
sell just one. I've got a spare set of Strombergs... not sure if I'd want
to part with 'em or not, but I think I would definitely want to sell BOTH
of them if at all.
I'm sure we'll get this straightened out with some other input from more
knowledgeable folks!
