I'm a new owner of a '78 Spitfire. This is my first
British car so I apologize upfront for my ignorance in
most issues Triumphant...

The water choke on my car is, very slowly, leaking
gasoline. The car is very hard to start in the
morning (20-30 seconds of turning over and activating
the autochoke per the manual doesn't help), and when
warm, it idles around 2000 RPM, creeping to 2K slowly
if the RPMs were low to begin with (after coming to a
stop for instance). Does the choke require
replacement or simple rebuild. I've seen rebuild
parts in the Victoria catalog, but not a complete
replacement part.

I'm in the process of restoring the interior (for the
summer season), and this winter I'll be overhauling
what I can mechanically. If anyone's interested in
photos so far, my home page below contains pictures.

Thanks in advance for all comments and suggestions.
