Since I started the discussion concerning the use of a Mity-vac for brake
bleeding, I would like to ask a few specific technique questions using
speedbleeders. To those of you who use these, are you able to bleed the
brakes by yourselves without an assistant looking for the cessation of air
bubbles? As I understand it, the check valve in the bleed screw eliminates
the necessity of opening and closing the bleed screw for each pump of the
master cylinder. How do you know when all the air is purged from a
particular brake line if you are inside of the vehicle pumping the brakes.
It seems as if I still need an assistant as an observer. If you are doing
a few pumps and then going to the caliper / wheel cylinder to look for air
bubbles in the purge hose attached to the speedbleeder, how much pumping do
you do before looking at the purge hose?
