Scott, Barry and anyone else: I used to run Dunlop SP4, size 175/70 x 13, 
on my 1970 GT6+. Then (and probably now) these were about the tallest 
(although probably not the widest) 175/70's around. And yes, not all 
175/70 x 13 tires are the same size! Point is, in six years of daily 
driving, rallying and autocrossing, I never had any problem with tires 
contacting any bodywork or suspension.

Caveat: these were on steel wheels. I do not know if the wire wheels 
might have a slightly different offset. I do know that the rid width is 
the same for either at 4.5 in.
