Doubt that is a valid test for seated rings, but a couple of thoughts....

I have heard of people putting a half teaspoon of Bon Ami in each cylinder
as an aid to getting the rings to seat.  Have no idea if that is a good
idea... just what I heard.  Anyone tried this?

You might also get a second opinion on the compression check.  Gauges can be
way off and since you got a consistent reading across the board it might be
worthwhile trying someone else's gauge or trying your gauge on another
engine.
