The PO had stripped the original door caps off and glued on some foam backed
vinyl. I'm installing the aftermarket door caps that VB and SpitBits sell.
At first, due to their convex shape, I'd assumed I'd need to fill (foam?)
them in some way. Now, after cleaning off the PO's old mess (in preparation
for MY mess), in appears that the new caps will glue to the door without any
kind of foam or filler behind them. Any experience here?

Also, when installing the new inner door fuzzies (as well as the outer), it
seems that dropping the glass down (by removing the glass stop) will make
the job easier...correct? It also seems that removing the entire vent window
frame will make the job easier. Watcha think?

Do I really need those homemade "install the seals" tools? If so, anybody
out there renting theirs?
