Paul :

FWIW, I helped Dana Scott do the "Ford Fiesta Bosch" alternator
conversion on his 73 TR6 last weekend, and I was absolutely amazed at
how smooth it went. The first parts house we called had one on the
shelf, it bolted right up to the original mounts, we plugged the wires
in (NO wiring changes) and away it went !

The only extra steps were to find a bolt to fit the threaded ear (the
original bolt probably would have worked, if he had had it), and to move
a spacer from the old alternator to the new. I've had more hassle
putting a GM alternator on a GM car ... <g>

Only time will tell how reliable it will be, but IMO _anything_ has to
be better than Lucas !
