ok folks, i've got a good one for you. as i near completion on my '76
TR6 restoration, i'm trying to start the engine. there has been no
evidence of combustion at this point. here is the situation as of this
evening....

1. i have spark at the points and the spark plugs.
2. brand new gas in the tank.
3. carb bowls have gas, carbs rebuilt with new jets.
4. oil pressure gauge showing 50+lbs of pressure when turning engine.
5. new plugs properly gapped.
6. carbs are "sucking" air.
7. distributor appears to be close to correct in timing/position, new
condensor, rotor,
     and cap used.
8. needles have been cleaned and set with carb tool. carb has oil and
pistons are
     moving properly.
9. engine turns freely.

    questions....
1. should i be concerned about not having the seat belt interlock system
connected? 2. are there other "must be connnected" wires i may have missed
that could keep
     the engine from firing?

if i've got fuel in the carbs, spark at the plugs, plenty of air
available, what could i still
be missing? pls ask any questions that may help me/you deduce the problem.
thanks for your help.
