Ken,

At the risk of restating the obvious, well sometimes it helps to restate the
obvious, and I don't know what bits you were fitting between the last time
it ran and now, but,
1. Did you re-check the plug wires to be sure they are on the right plugs?
2. If you took the distributor out, did you replace it the right way, or 180
degrees off?
3. Is the gas filter clogged?
4. Is the fuel pump putting out
5. Are the carb float bowls full
6. Are the floats adjusted properly
7. Is the gas tank vent clogged? sounds like it may be building up a vacuum
and can't pull enough gas

Well those are the easy guesses anyway.  There are 2 basic ingrediants to
making an engine run, a fuel mixture and a spark.  I always found that in
these kinds of situations the place to start is to narrow down the problem
by figuring out which system is screwed up by determining which is working
right,  and then work backward to figure out which element it is. OR, you
could check check the easy things first.
