Further speculation-
The noise might be caused by an ineffective F. brake pad retainer,
in conjunction with a slightly warped rotor. When not braking, the warped
rotor pushes the piston back, and the high spot just touches the brake pad
as it turns, causing a light click ( AKA 'thunk').. The noise goes away as
soon as you touch the brake pedal, right? If it was a bad bearing, spokes,
splines, etc. the noise will probably remain as you turn L-R-L-R while
touching the brake pedal.

time with a full wheel rotation....
Yes the wire wheel is on tightly...
And when I feather the brakes the "Thunk" goes away. There is no excessive
"Play" in the wheel that I can determine.
I am woundering if it is a bearing ?

Double check the nuts that secure the spline hub. If those nuts come loose
it doesn't matter how tight the knock-off is.
