Interesting note Andy- maybe Calif was the 'testing ground for that now
infamous PVC contraption. In my Oklahoma days, I eliminated the
recirculation breather on my TR4 (as it kept 'gooking up' the carb
pistons). This was way back in the early 70's when I went to the nice
chrome mesh air cleaners. In those days I just ran a 'hose'from the
valve cover ventout in between the carb air filters (so as not to
interfere with the throttle linkage) and down past the starter. This
essentially served much as the TR3's had, venting from the crankcase.
After my restoration, last year, I added the breather trap from Waterloo
when John offered the list free shipping! I'm very happy with it! Carb
poistons are always 'clean'!
