Well, I thought I had everythng happen to me with these cars, or someone on
the list tell about it happening to them, this is a new one, weather is nice
in N. Va. today so a nice little drive is on order, about 30miles from home
no clutch, none. Only way I can move is turn the key off put it in gear and
go, I just rebuilt the slave cyclinder and installed a S/S fluif line, and
how can you mess up on a slave cyclinder, only 1 rubber plunger, thats it,
well now the traffic is heavy, way to dangerous to try and get home this
way, pull into a pizzaHut and check it over good, the "C" clip retaining
ring in the Master Cyclinder is gone and the plunger is pointing up to
12:00, I have a rebuild kit in the boot put no other tools to install or
force the "C" ring into place, readjust the plunger rod, push it back inside
the M/C, install a new cup seal on the M/C then adjust the rod way out so it
cannot come back out of the cyclinder, start her up, plenty of pedal, and
drive it home, weird, never had this happen to me owith any type car, has
anyone had this happen or what can cause this, where to look and prevent it
from reoccuring. "FT"
