For the record here are the specific resistances of the more commonly
used conducting metals.
Resistance of metals in ohms/circular mil-foot at 20 degrees C
silver 9.56
copper (annealed) 10.35
copper ( hard drawn ) 10.60
gold 14.6
aluminum 17.0
zinc 35.0
brass 42.0
tin 69.0
Silver isn't used both for the cost and the fact it tarnishes as fast or
faster than copper thus reducing it conductivity.
My old electronics engineering text books are still useful if only for
trivial data such as this.
