On the subject of poor electrical connections, a suggestion for those
that want to evict the price of darkness from their cars. Clean all you
connectors down to bright shiny metal and gold plate them you can buy an
inexpensive kit from Caswell Plating

to Brush plate all the connectors with gold this will give you a much
more reliable connection at each bullet or screw terminal. Although gold
is a higher resistance conductor than copper your connections will not
deteriorate like a copper connection. That is why most modern electronic
equipment has gold plated terminals on circuit boards and at most
terminal connections. An easy way to improve the reliability of your
LBC. Most electronic supply houses can also supply you with brush type
gold plating kits as well, I use them to repair damaged circuit boards.

Say what? Both of my cars are over 40 years old. Well almost. My
newest was built May 1960 so sometime this month will be over 40. They
both work just fine as sole transportation thank you.
Yes, the bullet connectors oxidise over time and cause about 85% of the
price of darkness curses. One cure is to replace all the barrels with
new ones. When the bullets are out, sand them clean when dab them with
dielectric grease before reassembly to keep the moisture out of the
connection.
They no longer make the tripple ganged connectors. Buy three single
barrel connectors and use the center connectors from them to replace the
ones in the original tripple barrel connector.
Some of the new single barrel connectors are just a tad too tight and a
little reaming with a phillips screwdriver opens them up enough to get a
connector in.
Over 40 year old British cars can be quite reliable.
