First, I'm no expert! After refurbishing the frame and the body, I placed
the same number of pads and shims (all new of course) back where they came
from. My rational was that the factory probably had it close. After doing
this, I took a look at panel fit - primarily rear of door to rear quarter
panels. That area is my least liked part of TR4 through TR6's. I adjusted
where needed to get the best panel gaps, fit, .... Always remember to test
latch the doors after adjusting. One too many, or too few shims can cause
the "B" post to shift, thereby causing the door to either stick or not latch
properly. Plan on about a day for panel fitting if you have another capable
person to help you. Yes, I said a day - just to get it right!
