Back in the 50's and 60's, Triumph designers engineered a rather elegant
solution
to this problem. As seen on the TR4, they brilliantly designed the hood so you
could simply unsnap it and stow it in the boot or basement. Curiously, they used
a far less versatile approach with the TR4A and TR6. <g>
