Actually there are bits of fact in both arguments. Recently, I saw a program
on SpeedVision or TNN where Carol Shelby was interviewed. He stated
that he is now doing his own "Cobra" kit cars. His reasoning is that since
there are so many fiberglass Cobra kits being offered, he may as well get
some of that action. And with his name on it, it becomes a "Real" Cobra.

Also, it seems that the "Real" Cobras are again being produced on original
frames that were imported back in the 60's and never used. They are done
as originally built and coat upwards of a quarter million dollars as I recall.
Seems like they got around the safety and emissions questions because
of the original chassis numbers that were already registered. So the cars will
carry a date of manufacture back in the 60's.

Don't quote me on any of this, it is strictly from memory.... and I am getting
to that age where memory is suspect.
