To continue the saga. . . 

I think it was Nelson who was inquiring about whether the Toyota Clutch release
bearing was designed to be in constant contact with the clutch diaphragm
springs. (and therefore revolve in unison with the engine) 


I just talked to a tech at "The Land Cruiser Connection" here in Northern VA,
and he told me that it was NOT.

He said that Land Cruisers have a return mechanism (spring?) that pulls the
bearing away from the clutch when one's foot is not on the pedal.

That stinks.

I was sort of hoping to put in a stiffer spring behind the slave cylinder
piston and have a quite, self adjusting clutch once again.

Oh well.
