Thank you for your reply and to everyone else who replied. The boxes you 
list do seem interchangable. I searched the net and found a Lucas catalogue 
that lists all the NEW part numbers for Lucas alternators/generators, 
starters and regulators. The PDF catalogue can be downloaded at:

It lists 37283 as corresponding to new number NCB 100 which is pictured with 
screw connectors. 37290 is listed as corresponding to NCB 101 which seems 
similar to NCB 100, but with spade connectors. No mention of resistances or 
other subparts in that catalogue.
