This is a thread that has been around a very long time and is GUARANTEED to
cause a controversy, but from my personal prospective, I have no problem,
and in fact would like to see, with one discreet "advertisement." Any more
at it seems to cross the line to self promotion or "Spam."

Just my $0.02, YMMV.

I agree with what Randall said about ebay adding value by making things
available in one marketplace instead of having to scour the web or catalogs
to find them.

I'd really like to get listers feelings on whether or not they think it's a
good thing to post listings related to a new product on your own site or a
special deal you have. I never do because I always thought it was considered
spam. On the other hand, I would like nothing better than to offer fellow
British car lovers - especially those who love them enough to participate in
a list or belong to clubs - special deals on stuff.

It's a "catch-22" cause I've got a bunch of things in the works that I know
you guys would be interested in but this list is not here to self promote.
On the other hand, I'd rather offer this stuff to fellow listers and VTR
members through my site and not on ebay where people might feel they are
getting a raw deal if they find my site later. What's the answer?

No more about ebay or selling stuff from me - I promise,
~Mike Brooks
