All cars across the BL spectrum had them - including Jaguar, though
ISTR the 'leapers' had a different badge, dark blue letters on a
silver background. Rumour had it that Sir William Lyons strongly
objected to his products having the same badge format as Minis,
Marinas and MG's (as with all the others) that he exercised his by no
means limited influence and stated only Jaguars would have that style
of badge. I think it was when he retired that Jaguar finally 'fell
into line.'
