You can use a small electrical screwdriver if you are gentle moving it
around the rubber circumferentially (sp?). As soon as you have to use force
the blade will slip and you've marked your new paint.   AMHIK!

I use a flat piece of hard wood, some of those ice cream core sticks are
pretty good with plenty of water mixed with washing up liquid sloshed over
the area. Also it's easier in warmer conditions.
