Rebecca,

I have been lurking mostly since the car is mostly done. I guess you input the
comments from Charles Runyan since here signed the note. I have some input
that is contray to your position.

I am a great TRF supporter. But things are not that rosey with the magic
carpet stuff nor is there a compelling concern with customer satisfaction.

I have the Magic Carpet "original OEM grey loop" set in my fully restored TR4.
This car has won first place at many major NE shows including British
Invasion. I was thrilled when the original style carpet set was made
available. I ordered one immediately and installed it... discarding a set I
purchased and installed eariler in the restoration.

However, since I have installed it. The greay carpet has faded badly to a
wierd orangey/grey shade wherever the open roadster would be exposed to
sunlight. So... the driveshaft tunnel top and the area around the gearshift
are effected. I care for my TR4 like crazy... always use the tonnoeu cover...
always garaged.. Therefore it gets very little time in the direct sun except
for driving top-down or a show.

I attended the TRF Summer party this summer (3rd place TR4) and decided to
take up the problem with TRF when I was there. I was told to see Ms Terlion.
I got nowhere. Ms Terlion was not available for much of the time. When she
was there, I tried many times to engage her in talking about the quality
problem. As soon has she realized that I had a problem she would turn away
and start another conversation. After a while she would seem to avoid eye
contact when I came near. I spoke with an "assistant" and asked her to come
outside and look at the car. She basiclly suggested that I was making it up
or allucinating. Her position is that that could not have happened.

I not to get angry... dropped the issue and decided to just enjoy the summer
party. But I did come away with a very lasting impression of customer
satisfaction on the magic carpet side of the business. I have spent something
close to $9,000 dollars with TRF and would have expected more than that.

Sorry to rain on your parade but this is what happened to me. When the carpet
set gets complete ugly I will replace it... but based on this experience it
will not be a TRF magic carpet item.

Do I hate TRF... absolutely not... with that $9000 dollars I bought lots of
quality parts I could not get elswhere. If Rebecca/Charles had not come back
so strong on product quality... I never would have complained on the list.
But this e-mial needed a reality check.
