>Now ya'll got me wondering if switching to premium would boost performance
in my TR6. I'm bored .060 over, w/a slightly bumped up cam, nothing real
radical, I don't remember the specs on the cam, just a little, about like a
mileage cam. What do ya'll think? I've run regular gas since rebuilding
the enging year before last.
As usual, thanks a bunch!

Bryan, I was told many years ago (and it was repeated here in a previous
post) that there are no more BTU's in a gallon of premium than there is in
a gallon of regular. If your car runs fine with regular it will run the
same with premium. However, if you do run premium you may be able to
advance your timing and squeek out a little more performance. Of course
the real improvement to be gained by using premium is to have your head
shaved to increase the compression ratio. (Hint: if you do that also have
the sharp edges radius'd which will reduce hot spots and help prevent
pre-ignition)
