Not sure if it was used on Triumphs, but showed up on Jags and other LBC's.
It's a nice rich medium blue. Of course I'm looking for a solid,
non-metallic color. May not be concours original, but I think it might be
very pretty on my 59 TR3A when the time comes.
Cotswold Blue was in the Standard-Triumph colour range from 1956-early 1960,
as well as Jaguar and Rootes Group, though I think the latter called it
another name. We had two cars in this colour - a Standard Ten saloon and a
Vanguard. As the company had always sanctioned the painting and trimming of
cars in any combination of standard colours for a nominal extra charge, it
would have been perfectly feasible to order a TR3A in Cotswold Blue as it
went down the paint line. It also means that because of this, the car would
be eligible for concours as the colour would have been available for the TR,
even if it did not appear in the colour chart for that model.
