Richard, I totally respect and admire you for interest in doing the whole
thing. Me, I jog 5 miles when I can. Cutting firewood is a joy saving me
money and giving me a workout too. I find both of these to be zen blocks of
time when I can come to some sort of subliminal glimpse of the universe we
live in, albeit short-lived since I can never seem to remember it the next
day.
...But, I do have to say, bodywork bores me to tears.
Mostly, though, is the realization that, at 53 years old, with three kids
heading to college, this is my last automobile indulgence. I particularly
want it done well--not "correctly" necessarily, mind you, but well--and I
don't want to learn about bodywork on this car and live my last special car
with the inevitable imperfections I would always see in my mind.
If my kids were younger, ...rather, if I were..., I'd invest the time and do
it myself too, because you're right to do it. I really hope we get to see
pictures on the List when you're done!
