I just did a brake system overhaul including a rebuilt master cylinder (Apple
Hydraulics), calipers, hoses, etc and I still sometimes notice that when I
first start the car and apply the brakes for the first time, the brake pedal
goes down farther than it should. Once I apply the brakes a couple of times
backing it out of the driveway, it firms up fine. But if I stop the car and
leave it for a bit, it does the same thing again. I've bled the system a
couple of times with no change. The only thing I didn't do that Apple
recommended was to bench bleed the master cylinder before installing. Would
that cause this? If so, do I have to remove the master cyl to bench bleed it
properly or is there a shortcut I can use while it is still installed? Any
other thoughts?

  Thanks, Greg H
