Hey John. Long time, no hear from. The dip guy I go to uses water based
solutions for dipping and these do nothing for undercoating. When I dipped the
TR8 I had to go back and remove the undercoating with a scraper and heat
source. Now that I am ding the TR3 I removed all the undercoating and
fibreglass
(and there was a bunch) before I took it out there. I will get it back in a
couple of weeks so we shall see how it comes out.
I doubt you will find anybody dipping using a solvent capable of removing
undercoating. If you do let us know.
