Listers,

Just got finished putting the piston/rod assemblies down into the liners,
added the caps and torqued them down.
After completing this operation I thought it would be wise to inspect just
how "tight" the caps were; glad I did!

I noticed that 3 out of 8 cap bolts were not completely flush against the
cap. Instead, the bolt heads were roughly .002 - .003" from the cap even
though the bolts were tightened to the proper torque.

This seems odd to me and gives me pause to question if something is not
right and if corrective action is needed. In theory, the cap will be able
to travel which cannot be a good thing.

Do any of you have any knowledge or experience in this matter that may be of
assistance to me?

FYI, I'm using the new "stretch" bolts.

Peace be with you!
