When it's time to put it all back together use Brass nuts and some
anti-seize. The Brass nuts and steel studs won't "melt" into each other and
the anti-seize helps too.

It has threads on the other end, right? And the nut is stuck because of
rusty threads? Put two nuts on the other end and lock them together. When
you get the stuck one off, unlock the two on the other end. Of course, one
of them might stick. So lock together two nuts on the first end. Repeat
procedure. Repeat procedure. Repeat procedure. Eventually you might be
able to get them all off. Or you could hold the stud with vice grips, using
lots of padding to avoid further damage to the threads. Or you could go buy
a new stud.
