Hmm, in 1630, after many formal inquiries into his scientific work
verifying Copernican theory, Galileo was placed under house arrest for
his scientific writings which ran counter to conventional wisdom (that
conventional wisdom being that the sun revolved around the earth). He
remained under house arrest, despite ill health, until he died in 1642.
It was not until 1983, 341 years later, that his inquisitors'
descendants admitted that he might have been right.

Science is such a bother. So, let's please change the subject before it
interferes with opinions infected by the dominant politics of the age....

Cheers.
