I used a product to prep various parts before painting during my
front-end rebuild. "Metal Ready" is a checmical prep made by the folks
that make POR-15 paint. According to the container label it will work
on any metal surface. When used as directed and applying POR-15 over
the top the painted finish is virtually bullet-proof!
Paul, you can get it quickly if needed at YearOne in Braselton, GA...a
45 minute ride from your house.
