If you mean the Collier muesum in Naples, sadly no it isn't open. At least
it wasn't when I was in Ft. Meyers last year last Christmas. Too bad, it
was great. The facility is still there. One of the Collier family still
owns all the cars (except for a few that were on loan) and the facility.
The cars are all still there and are still being maintained. The only
difference is it's not open to the public.

My father-in-law, from Ft Meyers, sent me several clippings from the local
papaers about this. What seemed strange was that the Colliers said they
were loosing money on the place. But it seems to me that there expenses
haven't changed much since they closed the doors to the public. The only
folks not still employed are the docents, who were volunteers. The rest of
the folks were involved in the restoration/maintenance of the cars and
buliding. I think there were some research staff for the library that are
gone. Of course the insurance is now a LOT less. The Colliers were trying
to get the local government to put up some $, claiming they were a tourist
attraction.

I hope it does reopen some day. Quite a nice place.
