All of the race Minis that I have done in the past 15 years use a similar
set-up. We use an external Mecca (Canton) 40 micro mesh screen on the suction
side of the stock pump. It is amazing what that filter picks up!
The oil then goes through the pump, cooler & regular block mounted filter and
back to the motor.
