I stand corrected on this....of course he (Clark) didn't die if we won Indy
in '65 (I was having another blonde and/or senior moment). I believe others
have pinpointed it correctly as '68 at Hockenheim.
I know the Lotus logo was issued in black at some point commemorating a
death...I was under the impression it was first done for Clark, but I could
be wrong. Some were likely done later when Colin passed as well?? Any
trivia experts out there have the answer on this? I know that the Cortina
came with an all black Lotus logo on the horn button, but the outside emblems
were normal...maybe this didn't signify anything at that time, other than a
black logo to match the interior? The Locort also came with an emblem on the
console announcing them the winners of the Manufacturer's Championship for
1965.
