Er, transponders?

Are they required for SVRA events? I was planning to race at Watkins
Glen in September as a "one-off" event. I normally run at CVAR, which
doesn't require transponders.

Must I buy one (which knocks the expense over the top for me) or are they
available for rent? At what price?

Thanks.
